WELCOME TO THE PAGE ASPIRATIONANDREVOLUTION
BY TANJA R. MÜLLER
This page sums up the major thread of my academic research: the aspirational quest for global solidarity and a world built not on capitalist exploitation and neoliberalism, but on alternatives modes of production, distribution and active participation and ownership. I have worked on these themes under the slogan aspirationandrevolution in relation to three major themes: (1) Revolution and new elites, explored in concrete detail for example in relation to the case of Eritrea; (2) Revolution and the quest for global solidarity, explored for example in relation to post-socialist legacies and in concrete detail in a case study from Mozambique; and in discussions around the dynamics of celebrity humanitarianism; and (3) Revolution and global rights, explored in concrete in relation to UN Peacekeeping Interventions; refugee trajectories and citizenship claims as a form of resistance; and diaspora politics and questions of belonging.
All three themes are presented in more detail on the following pages. If you want to get in touch you can do so at tanja.mueller AT manchester.ac.uk
I also run a blog on contemporary issues around Humanitarianism and Development, to become a follower see http://tanjarmueller.wordpress.com/
